Stapehill Abbey, a Grade II listed gem nestled in the picturesque Dorset countryside, presented Elegant Interiors with a unique opportunity for historic restoration and modern transformation. Originally built in the 19th century, the property underwent a remarkable journey when permission was granted in 2014 to convert it into over 50 private homes. Elegant Interiors was enlisted by the clients who acquired one of the barns within this historic complex. The comprehensive scope of the project included lighting and electrical plans, spatial planning, staircase design, kitchen design, bespoke joinery (wardrobes, dressing room, bar, media wall, study), bathroom design, window treatments, custom upholstery, fabric schemes, and furniture sourcing.

Challenges and Solutions:

Historic Conservation: Renovating a Grade II listed building in a conservation area presented inherent challenges. Elegant Interiors navigated these constraints expertly by working closely with heritage authorities and adhering to strict preservation guidelines. This ensured that the property's historical charm and significance were preserved while accommodating modern living.

Modern Transformation: The clients envisioned a contemporary luxury living space within the historic abbey. Elegant Interiors successfully transformed the barn into a modern oasis by incorporating sleek design elements, high-end finishes, and innovative solutions for everyday living. The brief from the client was to create a masculine contemporary design that harmonised with the existing finishes of the penthouse. The overarching design concept centred on a neutral palette with bold hints of colour, driven by the clients' adventurous taste in abstract fabrics. This comprehensive project encompassed the complete transformation of the property into a fully designed, specified, and furnished home, ready for our clients to enter upon their return from vacation. In addition to interior design, Elegant Interiors also undertook project management, successfully delivering a beautiful home with a stunning bespoke media unit, complete with an integrated fireplace, for our clients to enjoy.

Welcome to our latest portfolio showcase, where history meets modern elegance. Step into the enchanting world of our 1850s townhouse renovation project nestled in the heart of Chelsea, London. Purchased by our clients in 2021, this historic property had been divided into two flats before our team embarked on a transformative journey to restore its former glory. With meticulous attention to detail, Elegant Interiors has breathed new life into this cherished piece of history, honoring its heritage while infusing it with contemporary flair. Join us as we unveil the stunning transformation of this once-disheveled dwelling into a refined and stylish family home.

Originally a multi-dwelling unit of four apartments, our clients purchased this property with a view to converting this amazing townhouse based in Kensington, close to Kings Road in London, back to a single occupancy. Elegant Interiors worked closely with our clients chosen architect and contractor to bring to life their vision and dreams for the property. The design brief was to design a classic contemporary space whilst retaining the existing Georgian architecture with interior finishes to steer towards the Georgian era, creating a feeling of luxurious sophistication. The design process encompassed architectural details such as coving, cornice and skirtings, all ironmongery and doors, bespoke joinery throughout the property, paint finishes and wallcoverings, furniture, fixtures and equipment. We are hoping to complete the project by the end of 2023.

Nestled in the picturesque South of France, this Provençal villa offers breathtaking vistas of both the majestic mountains and the tranquil sea. Constructed in the 1970s by a local architect, who made it his personal residence, the villa bore a distinctive architectural character defined by the extensive use of natural stone and wrought iron. Its crowning jewel, the grand curved entrance steps, exuded sophistication and luxury. Elegant Interiors delicately restored the property, focusing on elegance, functionality, and the integration of modern elements, all while preserving its charming Provençal features.

After a consultation with the customer we provided a furniture, styling and installation package for this project and are very proud to say an offer was received the following week at the full asking price with a request to keep the furniture.

Transforming a modest Bungalow into a tranquil calm home

Carina was originally a modest bungalow set in the heart of Branksome Park conservation area, which has now been demolished to make way for a new 7000 sq ft detached new build with a striking double height ceiling in the living area and indoor swimming pool. We estimate the build to be completed by the end of 2024. The client approached us at the very early stages to ensure all interior aspects were considered and feedback was provided to the architect. Elegant Interiors have been tasked with providing a full turn-key solution for this property. The scope of works covers lighting and electrical plans, kitchen and bathroom design, bespoke joinery design, wall and floor finishes together with a full interior design package. The brief for this project is ’tranquil calm spa’. We are thoroughly looking forward to developing our designs and delivering something special for our clients.

As the Carina project approaches its completion date, we are poised to deliver a truly exceptional interior that complements the architectural magnificence of the new build.
